The Silverdale chapter of The American Sewing Guild was chartered in 1999 and is one of four ASG chapters in Washington State. Our 150+ members live primarily in Kitsap, Jefferson, and Clallam counties west of Puget Sound and possess a variety of sewing-related interests and skills from beginner to advanced. We have several chapter-wide educational events during the year and neighborhood groups meet monthly in Port Orchard, Bremerton, Silverdale, Kingston, Sequim, Bainbridge Island and Port Angeles Our chapter also participates in several community projects during the year.

We have several chapter-wide educational events during the year which are sponsored by different neighborhood groups, Meeting either on the West of Hood Canal Bridge or on the East side of the bridge. We vary our locations so each group has something closer to their area throughout the year. Our chapter also participates in several community projects during the year and also participates in the national charity event.

A Holiday Party to Celebrate Valentine's Day!!!

On February 11, 2012 the Silverdale Chapter will host a Pot Luck Party to celebrate Valentine's Day.
This event will be held at the First Lutheran Church located at 18920 4th Avenue Northeast Poulsbo, WA 98370
from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. Each year when we have had our Holiday Party we have had a challenge to make a certain item.
Last year for example, it was a bag with a zipper, the year before it was a pincushion.
This year we would like you to decide what you would like to make, however it must incorporate a HEART.
Some ideas for items to make might be a small bag, small table runner, coasters, an apron, potholder or any other item you would like.
Remember, you only have to make ONE item but it must have a HEART.
You can embroider, crochet, knit, appliqué or draw a Heart but it must be on the item. This would be a great opportunity to use up some left over fabrics, thread, ribbon or lace, be creative and have fun with it.
Then wrap your gift and bring it to the Potluck on February 11, 2012. We will have an exchange and you will take something new home.
Also please bring your favorite dish and all the show and tell items you can carry.
This event is meant to be relaxing and fun.
For more information on location, program details or directions please contact Clairee Meeks at clairee@wavecable.com .
