Spring Sew Sampler

Saturday, March 12, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Gardiner Community Center

980 Old Gardiner Road, off Hwy 101 in Gardiner (almost to Sequim)

Early each spring, our chapter focuses on sewing tidbits providing by our members. Many members choose to bring guests to our Sew Sampler  who may be thinking about joining ASG and want to learn more about it. Morning snacks and beverages are provided by the chapter and members bring a pot-luck dish to share for lunch.

This year, yours truly (that would be me(!), Chapter Website Manager), will start the event with a quick review of how to access information on our chapter and national websites. I'll also demonstrate how to use our new technology equipment, a document camera and LCD projector.

In addition, four presenters will demonstrate techniques to inspire everyone.

  • Ella Holbrook will show us her method of hand-binding
  • Elaine Lemon will demonstrate Zentangle sewing
  • Ann Long will show us some slick pressing techniques and a precise way to turn a collar.
  • I will show how I hand quilt.

There will also be a display of hand-quilted quilts made by our members. In addition, there is always time for show and tell where members bring their latest projects to share with others.

The sun is always shining in Sequim, and the view from the Gardiner Community Center is worth the trip.  We hope to see you there!
